My wife and I like to visit the local Humane Society from time to time. She is a full-blooded 100% cat person and loves to go there and show each of the animals (especially the cats) a little love and attention. I tend to become a cat person the longer I'm around them. I know . . . being a dog-person is probably the "manly" way to go, but hey, sue me.Anyway, this past weekend we stopped by and as we walked in, we were shocked. They were almost at capacity. There were two or three spaces that didn't have cats in them and out of the 35 or 36 cats there, about 30 of them were kittens. Likewise, the dogs had just a few open cages. It absolutely broke our hearts. (Well, it always does, but this time more than usual.)
If you live in the Nashville area and are looking into getting a pet, please visit the Humane Society. They are a great organization and have a large variety of animals that desparately need a place to call home.

Thanks for promoting the Humane Society adoption agency. Too many pets are lost in the masses and each one needs a good home. Glad you included this on your website.
On the poll: I have one dog and 4 fish, but that wasn't an option, so I picked "just dogs". My doggie is the most adorable black pug named "Bruno". He likes to play chase, chew his many bones that I find in the couch or buried in various corners on the floor on a daily basis. He is the best companion, running a close second to my husband.
Thanks for the photos of your cats in shirts. That is so great, I think I may be inspired...poor Bruno!
